Algorex Health COVID-19 Kit
Social Determinants of Health (SDOH) play a significant role in the health of individuals – and as a result have large-scale impact on the revenue operations of healthcare organizations and negative impacts on overall health outcomes in populations.
Individuals who are disproportionally affected by SDOH factors are more vulnerable to the spread of COVID-19 and to the economic shockwaves that result from pandemic response. Healthcare organizations in certain regions of the United States will experience long-term, negative effects in a similarly disproportionate manner, particularly in terms of growth in Medicaid populations and increased demand for social supports.
Starting this week, Algorex Health is offering SDOH forecasting specifically related to the pandemic. We hope that this will help our clients allocate resources efficiently and effectively, with SDOH at the forefront of mitigating impacts of this crisis.
The COVID-19 Data Kit is intended to assist large-scale organizations such as health plans and health systems in their continuous fight against, and preparation for, COVID-19. The goal of this work is to synthesize a wide variety of data sources into specific action plan in just a few days without the need for exchanging protected health information.
It consists of two features:
Census-Block Level Map and Dashboard: An interactive map that displays geography-related statistics relevant to COVID-19 impact and patient care. The dashboard can immediately be used in planning by health plans and accountable care organizations (ACOs) in quantifying the burden populations face not only from COVID-19 but also the economic aftermath. The dashboard shows a variety of measures to support urgent use cases for ACOs and health plans, including:
- Economic measures of poverty, employment and market engagement
- COVID-19 spread and growth
- Algorex Health SDOH predictors
Clinical Area Data File: A breakdown of the populations served by your organization with predictions of Medicaid plan growth and socioeconomic impacts. Clients can then internally join the file with their membership or provider network to elicit impact predictions at the individual level. The kit can be provided at the state/multi-state level, for specific hospitals, hospital service areas, or geographic regions that pertain to your organization. The data is drawn from Algorex Health’s internal national database, public sources, and leading COVID-19 epidemiological organizations.
